It’s time again for another component of the month reveal, and for October, we were treated to a gorgeous hare coin clasp from Niky. I love that Niky chose clasps for her component, I can never find the right one when I make designs for the challenges so it was nice to start off with the clasp and design around it for a change.
Here’s the one I received, partially made in to something as I only remembered to take a pic once I’d started!
I originally thought about making a bracelet, but my ideas got bigger and the component pile got higher, so I decided to go for a moon gazing hare necklace.
Using one of my moon cabochons, I added a seed bead bezel around the edge, and stitched on jump rings to attach the necklace and dangles.
The hare clasp was attached at the front of the necklace to show him off and put him in the right spot for a bit of moon gazing.
The necklace was strung with Czech beads and some pewter urchins (masquerading as planets!) and below the moon, I added a shower of hematite stars threaded with waxed cotton thread.
Big thanks to Niky for a gorgeous component for the challenge. I had loads of fun working with it!
I hope you’ll join Niky and the rest of us in the blog hop to see everyone else’s fabulous clasp creations.
