AE Christmas Ornament Challenge

Can you believe it’s Christmas already? And the end (or nearly end) of another month means it’s time for the last reveal of the year…. The Art Elements Christmas Ornament Challenge. Earlier this month Lesley asked us all to join her in designing a Christmas ornament, and I got stuck in with my felting supplies.

First, I made a pudding…. (link for the tutorial here.)

Then I made a Game of Throne’s dragon egg… (link for the tutorial here.)

And finally, for the reveal I decided to take the idea behind the pudding, starting off with a wet felted ball, and adapt it to create some woodland creatures to live in my tree.

Fenton the Fox…

And his friend Hedley the Hare… (His ears aren’t odd sizes IRL, I’ve caught him at a funny angle!)

I’m going to try more with toy eyes, the bit of a shine to them gives them a great character!

Before we get to the blog hop, I’d like to take a minute wish everyone a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. Thank you all for liking, following, reading, and visiting my shop this year… and here’s to a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2018 for us all!

And thanks to Lesley for organising the challenge, it’s been the perfect end to the year. I hope you’ll join me to visit the rest of the team and guests to see what they’ve created.

  1. Oh heavens, those are some lovely ornaments. That fox and hare absolutely make me grin like a crazy person. They’re just so darn cute! You have a way with felt for sure. I do hope your Christmas is wonderful!!

  2. Caroline, your work always blows me away. You have such a good eye for sculpting, whether it’s clay or felt. I love your pudding and dragon egg but Fenton the Fox and Hedley the Hare are so perfect-I am in love with them. Beautifully done!!!

  3. I love all of them but those animal heads are a bit special. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you to.

  4. Oh, the animals are so cute! Just seeing them made me smile today! 🙂 Your tree must look so beautiful (and I would need hours to have a look at everything!).

  5. I want to adopt the fox and hare. I don’t put up a tree because cats, but I would find a place for them to be on display. The pudding and the dragon egg are great, but the faces on those little woodland critters are too adorable.

  6. Those animals are so darn cute. It looks like they are staring right out at you! I also really like the pudding ornament with the squiggles and berries on top. You are really talented working with wool!

  7. I’m ridiculously late hopping but I’m so glad I stopped by. I adore your felted creations… especially your creatures. So adorable!
